Jeane Freeman MSP Supports Scam Awareness Month

Published date : 29 Jun 2017

Jeane Freeman, MSP for Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley is supporting Scams Awareness Month which runs throughout July and encourages people to report and talk about scams.

Scams Awareness Month is a unique collaboration between Citizens Advice Scotland, Scottish Citizens Advice Bureau, Trading Standards and private business.  Each week will look at a different demographic and how scams affect them.

Jeane Freeman MSP said:

“Scammers can strike at any time and the knowing how to spot a scam is the best line of defence against being scammed.

“It is important people know to report scams so the authorities can stop these fraudsters and their scams.

“Drop in to your local Citizen’s Advice Bureau during Scams Awareness Month to learn more information on scams including tricks and tactics scammers use to try and steal people’s money.”
